Northern Neck Land Conservancy presents 2018 Boots & BBQ
2018 Boots & BBQ, will be held Sunday, September 23, 2018, 1- 4 p.m. Boots is the premier educational and fundraising event where the public is invited to learn more about the role of land conservation in preserving our beautiful Northern Neck.
The theme for this year’s event is Arts and Artisans and will be hosted by Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville 22473. There is no increase in ticket price and your $40 admission includes all you care to eat and drink- fried oyster appetizers, fresh BBQ and side dishes from Angelo’s Catering, craft beer, fine wines, water, soft drinks and our famous homemade desserts. A special auction and 20 fantastic environmental exhibitors will also be featured.
As a unique bonus this year, there will be entertainment in the form of costumed artisans including blacksmiths, spinners and weavers, woodworkers, costumed docents and free rides through the historic area in a vintage horse drawn carriage.

Norris Bridge themed t-shirts, novelties now available at Kilmarnock Museum
Jason Kissinger designed the Norris Bridge-themed items and he will donate a portion of the proceeds to the museum.
Irvington Farmers Market operates the 1st Saturday of the Month, Starting May 5th and ending November 3rd.

There will be several new workshops at Allure Art Center by two of their most popular artists coming up in October.
Plein Air Painting Basics Workshop by Kim Hall, a nationally recognized and award winning painter from Richmond, Virginia, will be an outdoor, on location workshop weather permitting.

Becoming a Published Artist by David Aiken, a nationally published artist, this seminar will give you insights and tips on how to achieve your goal from an artist who has been through it all over the years with over 17 published books and illustrations.

The Fall Feline Food Frenzy will run from September 17th through October 6th. Donations of cat food may be dropped off at the Animal Welfare League Thrift Shop, 75 South Main Street, Kilmarnock, Monday – Saturday 10-4. Monetary donation may also be made at the thrift shop or mailed to: The Animal Welfare League, P.O. Box 975, White Stone VA. Checks should be made out to AWL.
