LemonAid for a Cause at Allure Art Center
This is not your typical lemonade sale. Allure Art Center has once again teamed up with hundreds of stands dotting the Central and Eastern Virginia community - all to raise money for childhood cancer! Anthem LemonAid is Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' annual summertime fundraising event. Allure Art Center exceeded their goal last year but wants to blow it out this year and needs your help!
All proceeds benefit the Hematology and Oncology Clinic at Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR) to help kids with cancer. Now that's lemonade you can feel good about!
The Lemonade stand will be out front of Allure Art Center this Friday and Saturday from 11am – 3pm each day rain or shine. David and Zora Aiken will be signing their children’s books and prints along with local artists doing sketches and other activities. Come out and help fight childhood cancer. For updated activities and artists showing up for this event follow Allure Art Center on their Facebook Page.
Upcoming Events at Allure Art Center
July 13th – August 12 – New art exhibit opens featuring the works of David Aiken that span a wide variety of mediums from watercolor to metal. Over 75 pieces can be seen in this comprehensive exhibit.
July 20-21st – Allure Art Center is once again part of the Anthem LemonAid Children’s Hospital fundraiser. We will have our lemonade stand setup along with children’s activities. Come out to support a good cause. Stand open from 11am – 3pm each day.
August 11th – Allure Art Center’s Art Yard Sale – Artists from across Virginia will be setup on the grounds of Allure Art Center having an end of summer yard sale of locally created art. This is a great time to pick up some wonderful local art at end of summer prices.

The Food Bank is approaching their gleaning season. 40-45% of the food their pantry clients receive, is fresh produce. This is made possible through donations, as well as local farmers that have opened up their fields to them for gleaning. Volunteers are always needed! Whether it be a business, civic or church group, or even individuals - ANYONE can help make a difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity, locally.
