​Taste by the Bay

It is with both gratitude and a touch of nostalgia that we announce the official retirement of one of Lancaster by the Bay Chamber’s most beloved events—Taste By The Bay.

For the past 11 years, Taste By The Bay has been a signature celebration of community, food, wine, music, and the unmatched coastal charm of the Northern Neck. What began as a simple idea blossomed into one of the region’s most anticipated events—selling out in just 13 minutes last year. Held at the iconic Tides Inn, it brought together wineries, breweries, restaurants, artisans, and music lovers for a truly unforgettable experience.

With exciting renovations now underway at the Tides Inn, and after careful consideration by the Chamber’s Executive Board, we have made the decision to retire the event. We believe the event has outgrown its longtime home, and rather than attempt to reimagine or relocate it, we feel the time is right to preserve its legacy and celebrate the memories it created.

We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who helped make this event the success it was—especially Joanna Marchetti, whose leadership and vision guided the food and beverage experience for all 11 years. Her contributions helped shape Taste By The Bay into the cherished event it became.

While we say farewell to this chapter, we are excited about the future. In the coming weeks, the Chamber will unveil a brand-new event—a fresh concept that will carry forward the spirit of Taste in a bold and exciting new direction. We can’t wait to share more details with you soon.
